Esplanade Recital Studio Concert Guide: How to Get There, Parking & Tips (Singapore)

The Esplanade Recital Studio is the intimate chamber room inside Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, on the Marina Bay waterfront. Seating up to 245 people on retractable bleachers and a flat floor, it is built for chamber music, solo recitals, jazz and cabaret rather than arena-scale shows, and its fan-shaped, timber-floored room is tuned for acoustic performances. It sits beside the far larger Concert Hall and Theatre under the same twin domes, so a night here is a close-up, sit-down affair just minutes from the MRT. If you are seeing a recital, a choir or a small ensemble in Singapore, this is the room.

📍 Location & Map

The Recital Studio is part of Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay at 1 Esplanade Drive, on the Marina Bay waterfront beside the Esplanade Mall and a short walk from the Singapore River and the CBD. Because it shares the building with the Concert Hall and the Theatre, check which venue your ticket names before you queue at the wrong foyer.

🚆 Getting There

By MRT

Esplanade MRT (Circle Line) is the nearest station, a short walk away, and City Hall MRT (North-South and East-West lines) is also within walking distance via a sheltered route. An underground tunnel links the Esplanade Mall to both stations through CityLink Mall, so the walk stays dry in the rain.

By Bus or Ride-hailing

Buses stop along Raffles Avenue and Esplanade Drive, including the stops at Esplanade (02061), Esplanade Bridge (02111) and Aft Esplanade Stn Exit D (02029). For taxis and ride-hailing, the drop-off and pick-up point is the Mezzanine Level of the Esplanade Mall carpark.

🅿️ Parking

On-site parking is the Esplanade Mall carpark at 8 Raffles Avenue (carpark C24), with entrances off Raffles Avenue. Marina Bay is busy on performance evenings, so build in extra time or take the MRT if you can.

🏟️ Venue Layout & Seating

The Recital Studio is a fan-shaped, semi-circular room seating up to 245 across retractable bleachers and a flat floor. It has timber flooring, and its wall and ceiling finishes are designed specifically for good acoustics, which is why it hosts chamber music, solo recitals, cabaret and jazz.

💡 Pro Tips for First-Timers

☔ Weather & Rain Plan

Singapore's afternoon thunderstorms are routine, but you can stay dry for most of the trip: an underground tunnel connects the Esplanade Mall to City Hall and Esplanade MRT stations via CityLink Mall, and the approach from Esplanade MRT is short.

⏰ Arrival Timing

• Doors typically open 1–1.5 hours before showtime.
• The Recital Studio shares the Esplanade foyers with the Concert Hall and the Theatre, so confirm your venue on the ticket before joining a queue.

🎒 What to Bring

• Your e-ticket on your phone – mobile entry is standard at Singapore venues.
• A small bag – bag-size limits are enforced.
