Your pre-concert dinner guide for Unifi Arena (Axiata Arena). Korean BBQ, steamboat, Chinese, and Malay food in Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil — all within 10 minutes of the venue.

Unifi Arena (formerly Axiata Arena) in Bukit Jalil is KL's busiest concert venue — but the area isn't exactly known for its food scene inside the stadium complex. Luckily, two of KL's best food neighbourhoods are within a 5-10 minute drive or Grab ride: Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil itself.

Here's where to eat before your next concert — whether you want a quick bite or a full group dinner.

Sri Petaling — The Pre-Concert Hub

Sri Petaling is the closest major food neighbourhood to Unifi Arena, just across the KESAS highway (5 minutes by car/Grab). It's packed with Korean BBQ, steamboat, Chinese, and halal options.

Korean BBQ

Sri Petaling is famous for its Korean food corridor along Jalan Radin Anum. Perfect for groups heading to a concert together:

  • Daorae Korean BBQ — The most well-known. Premium pork belly, beef bulgogi, and free-flow banchan. Open until late. RM40-70/pax. Jalan Radin Anum, 5 min from venue.
  • K-Food House — More affordable option with great spicy pork and army stew. RM25-40/pax.
  • Moo-ka-dae Korean BBQ — Self-service BBQ with a wide selection of marinated meats. Good for big groups.

Chinese & Steamboat

  • Steambot House — Iconic Sri Petaling steamboat with fresh seafood, pork, and vegetable platters. Come hungry. RM35-50/pax.
  • Hua Zang Claypot — Famous for claypot chicken rice and herbal soup. Quick and satisfying. RM12-18/pax.
  • Q Bistro — Classic Hainanese chicken rice balls. Fast, cheap, and filling. RM8-12/pax — perfect if you're running late.

Halal Options

  • Nasi Lemak Wanjo — Sri Petaling's best nasi lemak with fried chicken, sambal, and all the sides. Open for dinner. RM10-15/pax.
  • Murni Discovery — Mamak-style with massive portions. Their nasi goreng USA and roti banjir are legendary. Open 24 hours. RM10-20/pax.
  • Ikan Bakar Tepi Jalan — Grilled fish with sambal, squeezed lime, and hot rice. Simple but unbeatable. RM12-18/pax.

Bukit Jalil — Right Next to the Stadium

The area immediately around the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex has grown rapidly. A few solid options for a quick pre-show meal:

  • The Gamber (Bukit Jalil) — Famous for butter milk chicken, salted egg prawns, and sizzling tofu. Great for group dinners. RM20-35/pax. Located at the Bukit Jalil Commercial Centre.
  • Mama Kim's — Vegetarian-friendly Korean cuisine with vegan options. Their kimchi jjigae and bibimbap are excellent. RM15-25/pax.
  • Roti by Chef Ammar — Modern roti canai with creative toppings (cheese, sambal, egg). Great for a quick snack before the show. RM5-10/pax.
  • Starbucks & Coffee Bean (Bukit Jalil Golf Club) — If you just need coffee and a pastry before heading in. Walking distance from the venue.

Timing Advice

  • Arrive at Sri Petaling by 5:30 PM for a 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM show. This gives you 1.5 hours to eat and 15 minutes to Grab over.
  • For Korean BBQ or steamboat: Dinner takes 1-2 hours. Aim to be seated by 5:00-5:30 PM.
  • For quick meals (chicken rice, nasi lemak, roti): 30-45 minutes is plenty. Arrive by 6:30 PM.
  • Parking: Sri Petaling has paid parking lots. If you parked at the venue lot, Grab from the stadium to Sri Petaling is ~RM5-8.
  • LRT option: Sri Petaling is accessible via the Sri Petaling Line (Star LRT). Alight at Bukit Jalil station for the venue, or Bandar Tun Razak station for Sri Petaling town.

What to Avoid

  • Fast food near the venue: The McDonald's and KFC near Bukit Jalil LRT get insanely crowded on concert nights. Queues can be 30-45 minutes.
  • Eating inside the venue: Concession food at Unifi Arena is limited, overpriced, and the lines are long. Eat before you go.
  • Alcohol before the show: Most Sri Petaling restaurants don't serve alcohol. If you want a drink, head to a bar in Bukit Jalil before doors open.
