🚆 Getting There
By MRT
City Hall MRT (East-West and North-South lines, EW13/NS25) and Raffles Place MRT (EW14/NS26) are both about a 10-minute walk from 9 Empress Place. From Raffles Place, Exit H is the shortest route: turn towards the Singapore River, pass the Fullerton Hotel and cross Cavenagh Bridge - roughly a 6-minute walk. The Exit B route past St Andrew's Cathedral and the National Gallery is sheltered through the gallery when it rains.
By Bus or Ride-hailing
Buses 195 and 961 stop at Supreme Court (bus stop 02181) on Parliament Place, about a 1-minute walk away, while more routes stop at Fullerton Square (03011) on Fullerton Road. For drop-off by car or ride-hailing, Empress Place runs right alongside the venue.
🅿️ Parking
The Victoria Concert Hall does not have its own public car park. The nearest paid parking is at Parliament House, The Adelphi, the National Gallery (enter by St Andrew's Road) and the Fullerton Hotel; you can drop off passengers outside the venue before parking.
🏟️ Venue Layout & Seating
The auditorium seats 673 - 538 in the stalls on a gentle slope down to the stage, and 135 in the Circle above. A refurbishment raised and reduced the second-floor balcony to improve sightlines and acoustics and added a coffered ceiling, and a Klais pipe organ of 2,012 pipes stands centre stage.
💡 Pro Tips for First-Timers
☔ Weather & Rain Plan
Singapore's afternoon thunderstorms roll in quickly. From Raffles Place, the Exit B route is sheltered through the National Gallery for most of the walk, which makes it the safest bet in the wet season.
⏰ Arrival Timing
- Doors typically open about 1 to 1.5 hours before showtime - arrive early to clear the bag check and settle in.
- The Main Foyer is on the second floor, and the Circle Foyer is reached by a lift and a spiral staircase, so allow a few extra minutes if you are seated in the Circle.
🎒 What to Bring
- Your e-ticket on your phone - mobile entry is standard at Singapore venues.
- A small bag; bag-size limits are enforced at the door.
